  True believers never save their money

  it's an article of faith.

  either god is going to save them or he is not.

  since one local elder proudly told me that he never saved a nickel until just before his retirement, i've given this subject some thought.. savers are worldly..

  actually i haven't post for quite a long in the forum and i guess i'm one of the old ones, since i became member since 2001.. after leaving the borg for almost 16 years and disfellowshiped 10 years ago.

  Hi JustHuman14, so sorry you are sick. I guess I would consider all factors, like: will you soon be debilitated? Are you limited in life years?

  If you will need total physical support soon, that is one thing, if you have hope of recovery, that's another.

  Taking that all into consideration, "coming back" (into this"loving organization") can be hell. Like all the other posters have stated, there are power trippin' people out there that can make it hard on you. You are right, it should be like the "Prodigal Son" arms open, banquet planning! But, alas, it's not.

  If hypocrisy and evil get to you, and you can't take the stress, maybe it's better to live w/o it... If you can take the "dont we looooove this new teaching" (& it's cool w/ you to be reading the tablet/ posting here during the meeting) go for it.....

  Like all have said, do what YOU need to do....

  Maybe looking up articles (better yet, scriptures) about taking care of loved ones, even if DF'd, will convince them to help.

  I hope you make it, let us know how it goes, please!

  The elderly sisters are at it again.

  awhile back, about a year and a half ago, when i was starting to wake up, i explained to my mom that when the circuit overseer is in town, they schedule shepherding calls after lunch, not because they care, but because they dont want to work door to door in the hot summer or cold winter.

  and they know that a prepared call means some nice hot chocolate and cookies or some ice cold tea and snacks.

  i remember her looking at me kind of funny so i ended the conversation and left it at that, and never brought it up again.

  The local hall just got fleeced for $15,000!

  the local hall recently sold some property to the state for a road improvement project that is sorely needed.

  they received about $20,000.

  I do know from my husband, an elder, that at "Circuit Assembly's" they had money enough to pay for their expenses, told people they needed more, got more $$, then asked all elders if they should send the extra to NY.

  One older brother in our hall, asked the head honcho about this in front of all (during one of those "elder meetings" at the CA) and he even asked if this type of statement to the brothers and sisters wasn't dishonest. He was given a joe blow schmo type of answer, that basically meant "this is what we do, now be quiet."

  So sad that the pressure to "conform" over rules the pressure to "do what is right."

  Royal Commission taking our emails to heart

  during the proceedings of australian royal commission, as many of you, i also took time to share with the office of mr stewart, my thoughts and perspective on what what being said and not said by the witness elders on the stand.

  within a day a received a reply from office of angus stewart thanking and appreciating the insight from those on the "inside".

  yesterday i received a further email that my correspondence was passed on to case study 29 (jehovah's witnesses) team for their consideration.. it sounds like they are taking all our collective experience and knowledge into account as the commission continues its work..

  I also wrote the Royal Commission, and just recently received a reply only 12 days later.

  I am not from Australia, not a victim, yet they thanked me for my input, and that it would be considered by the Royal Commission.

  How can this "worldly" organization, who never knew me, be so much more considerate and caring than the organization that demanded so much of my life in every aspect?

  I truly am grateful for not only all of their efforts and time invested into revealing who the WT really is, but for their care and concern for all of those who have been hurt by them.

  badly handled from Elders

  i am still attending the kh, i actually recently became aware of the ttatt, what i believed came as a huge surprised for me, i wasn't raised as a jw and have been for about 15 years.

  i have always been a very open minded individual all my life always seeing both sides of any situation with logic and common sense and so i believe discovering all of the doctrines i have been taught sense 16 years of age, wasn't extremely hard for me to realize in my heart it was a lie.

  well it was me discovering the watchtower society being a ngo member of the un nations for 10 years, after that the snowball just got bigger for me.

  Hi Olivia... Glad you are awakening, and hopefully, your child will awaken too.... Our family has left WT land in the last few years, but our children were older, in their 30's. I am so glad they are out, but didn't realize the damage JW teachings did to their lives.

  Please make sure that your daughter is able to live a free life. Watching those Sophia and Caleb vids is so disconcerting. They will give her guilty feelings (should I buy an ice cream? maybe people will die if I don't give my money? I have learned that little kid psyche's go deeper and so many different ways than we can imagine!)

  Grandma and grandpa provide a social structure, but remember they ARE JW's, and will ingrain the teachings into her head. My sister told her daughter "I think about running my car off the freeway overpass so that even if I die, you will live, because YOU didn't commit suicide, and will be resurrected into the new order"

  Also, when visiting her granddaughter, she showed her a Caleb/Sophia film about Sparlock.... When my niece's daughter returned from a short visit, she started to sort thru her clothes, she was going to throw away all her 'My Little Pony' shirts, toys.... they "could be demonized."

  My niece never would have known the indoctrination going on unless she had seen the effects on her daughter.

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.
